Back in April, Instagram began to hide like counts on posts, citing a desire for users to not obsessively compare themselves to one another.
Now, it’s looking like its parent company Facebook may follow suit.
On Twitter, frequent social media feature tipster Jane Manchun Wong revealed that she found a prototype for a like hiding feature in the Android version of Facebook.

When TechCrunch reached out for comment, Facebook confirmed that it is considering tests of a like hiding feature on the social network.
However, the company did not elaborate on when that may happen or where it may run the tests. Instagram’s like removal testing began in Canada and New Zealand in April and rolled out to a few other countries in the following weeks.
On Instagram, only the original poster can see how many likes a post has received. Otherwise, they’ll only be able to see a list of people who have liked it, including those they follow.
