D-Link has announced that its Covr Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System is now available in Canada.
The device, which is powered by Qualcomm’s Mesh Networking Platform, is designed to offer seamless Wi-Fi to all areas of a house.
D-Link says its Covr solution is “perfect for HD streaming, video chats and Smart Home devices,” offering coverage in homes of up to 5,000 square feet.
The Covr features AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi speeds, MU-MIMO technology, high-power amplifiers and three receiving antennas (D-Link says most systems only use two) to ensure coverage is consistent regardless of dead zones in a home.
Finally, D-Link says it has implemented smart roaming and smart steering technology into the Covr system. The former feature allows the device to analyze wireless signal strength and automatically connect to the strongest Covr point accordingly.
Smart steering, meanwhile, will help Covr find the best frequency band for the device to ensure smooth connection for all tethered devices, regardless of how many there may be.
The system costs $329.99 CAD and is available now at Best Buy. D-Link says other major Canadian retail outlets will start selling the Covr in June.
