Shortly after the Galaxy S8 and S8+ started shipping to consumers, reports came out that some units featured an unsightly red tinted display.
Samsung quickly responded to the issue, noting that it planned to fix the problem with a software update. Last week, that update started rolling out to S8 devices in Europe and the U.S. Specifically, multiple Bell S8 owners have sent 52MB update.
According to multiple MobileSyrup readers, Bell has started to push a 52MB update to S8 and S8+ smartphones that resolves the issue.
Android Central caught that Telus has started to do the same for Galaxy S8 smartphones on its network. It’s likely other Canadian carriers will follow suit soon if they haven’t already.
Have you downloaded the update to your S8? Does it fix the red tint? Tell us in the comment section.
Update: Virgin Mobile and Rogers Galaxy S8 and S8+ customers are reporting the update is now available to download.
Thanks for the tips, Roger and Marc!
