East coast-focused carrier Eastlink has let MobileSyrup know that it’s “working on a roam like home type solution,” and notes it’s coming soon.
Currently, the provider offers “U.S. Freedom Packs,” for travel in our neighbour to the south, starting at $15 for a three-day pack that gives subscribers unlimited calling and text to Canada and the U.S. as well as 300MB of data. A Europe combo pack starts at $50 per month for 50 minutes, 150 sent texts and 150MB of data, and gets higher depending on international zone.
While its unclear whether the roaming solution will include features for both the U.S. and international, the option is likely to be of fairly good value considering the already reasonable rates of its current roaming packages.
Eastlink recently expanded in to Northern Ontario with its LTE network now live in Timmins and Sudbury.
