A new trademark filing by Telus could bring some joy to its customers, but more specifically, Koodo Mobile customers.
Submitted to the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) on June 17th, Telus has trademarked the term “Happy TabZ” in English, and “La BalanceJoie” in French. While this naming falls under Telus it is more likely to be used for its sub-brand Koodo Mobile.
Unfortunately, the description of the filing only states it will be used for “wireless telephone services.” No other details are listed as to what the HappyTab will involve.
The Koodo Tab has been with the company since its inception and revamped April of last year. The Koodo Tab provides up to $360 in subsidy over 24 months, which can be paid back in equal instalments. The subsidy amount is customer-definable, so a $600 device can cost $240 up front, paid back with monthly $15 instalments over two years.
Koodo recently opted away from using El Tabador as its mascot to use the “Choose Happy” tagline.
