After learning that Rogers would be expanding the countries covered under its popular Roam Like Home plan tomorrow, MobileSyrup has uncovered some of those locations.
According to sources close to the program, Roam Like Home will be expanding to include parts of Eastern Europe, Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, and, for the first time, Africa.
Roam Like Home allows customers to tap into their Share Everything call, text and data buckets while traveling. All of these new locations will be charged $10 per day for access, up to a maximum of $100 per month.
The new countries include: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Israel, Armenia, Guernsey, Jersey, and Russia.
These join existing popular tourist locations like the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil, Costa Rica and others.
Rogers will offer LTE roaming access where it is available, but because it is not clear with which carriers the Canadian operator has inked deals, performance will be largely contingent on the quality of the remote networks.
The announcement, set for January 27th, will coincide with Rogers’ Q4 earnings.
