About four months ago, at IFA Berlin, Sony introduced the SmartWatch 3, its first crack at an Android Wear smartwatch. The SmartWatch features a 1.6-inch display wrapped in a comfortable rubberized band that can be easily swapped out for another colour. It also lends a sporty feel to the watch. Now, Sony is taking the SmartWatch 3 to the next level with a metal version that looks nothing like a fitness band.
Sony has announced a stainless steel version of the SmartWatch 3 that features a stainless steel body and link-style band. Sony has kept the same traditional watch clasp it used in the original SmartWatch 3. Metal body aside, it seems this model is identical to the version we just reviewed in December.
Global availability for the stainless steel SmartWatch 3 is scheduled for February.
