The carriers have been consistent with rolling out their LTE network coverage. According to various company news releases, the reach now sits above 24 million Canadian customers (which is about 70% of the Canadian population) and brings average download speeds between 12-25Mbps. One of the burning questions from wireless customers in Saskatchewan, who are not SaskTel customers, is when LTE will arrive in the province.
Well, TELUS took to Twitter yesterday and confirmed that “LTE is coming to Saskatchewan in April of this year.” You can expect Bell to make a similar announcement, too. As for the exact coverage, looks to be the same as SaskTel’s and go live in the Saskatoon and Regina areas.
The countdown is on to two of Canada’s largest carriers launching LTE in Saskatchewan. We’ll know more in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
