Google Trips app update makes it easier to keep track of travel information

Google Trips app

Google’s Trips smartphone app was updated today, making it easier to keep track of travel information and changes.

Released last September, the app lets users manage their travel information and offer suggestions for points of interest accordingly. With the new update, Trips has rolled out three new features to make travelling even simpler.

Firstly, individual hotel, flight and travel reservation info can now be saved into the app and viewed offline. By tapping the arrow button in Trips, travel details can be imported from e-mails into the app and shared with other people.

It’s also now easier to keep track of last-minute changes. Users can add new details for flight, hotel, car, and restaurant reservations, even without an e-mail confirmation, by pressing the ‘+’ button in the bottom right corner in the ‘Reservations’ section. With either an airline and flight number, or name of hotel, car rental or restaurant, Google will automatically fill out the rest of the information in-app. There’s also space for free-form notes.

And finally, all past and upcoming reservations will automatically be organized into the app, listing everything from arrival and destination locations to travel duration.

Google Trips is available on iOS and Android.
