Twitter launches Connect tab that makes it easier to follow new people

Twitter has 310 million average monthly active users and today it has made it easier for its user to connect with each others.

The real-time ‘social network’ acknowledges that it’s a big challenge to find new people and today it updated its app with a ‘Connect tab,’ which gives you a list of people it believes you’ll want to follow. Twitter notes it will show you a list of accounts based on the current people you follow, your tweets and the most popular accounts in your area, but promises it will “refine over time.”

In an effort to increase its active users, Twitter says the Connect tab also encourages your friends and family to join its platform as it gives them the option to automatically sync your address books. “And if someone in your address book joins Twitter, we’ll let you know so you can give them a warm welcome,” says Twitter.

The Connect tab will start rolling out today to those who have downloaded the official Twitter for iOS and Android apps.
