After months of waiting, Shomi has finally expanded the number of platforms it is available on, with the launch of a new PlayStation 4 app, allowing subscribers to stream content directly from the console. PlayStation 4 support was promised earlier this month and next up is an app for Microsoft’s Xbox One console, which is reportedly set to launch at some point in the near future.

Ann Tebo, director of product management at Shomi, stated in a release to MobileSyrup, “Members have been asking for Shomi on the PS4 system since we launched, and I’m thrilled we are now able to provide our service on this platform. With the addition of the PS4 system there are now four Internet-connected ways for members to get great Shomi content on their TV screen.”
To set Shomi up on the PlayStation 4, first download the app, login, and finally, enter an activation code.
Shomi is currently available on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, various set-top boxes, Xbox 360, Apple TV, and Chromecast. The Rogers-Shaw joint venture streaming service is free for 30 days, and is then priced at $8.99 per month.
