These were the best-selling games in Canada in April 2026

Pragmata, Capcom's first new IP in years, topped the charts

The Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) and Circana have revealed the best-selling games in Canada in April 2026.

Read on for the full list:

  1. Pragmata (Capcom)
  2. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Nintendo)
  3. Starfield (Xbox)
  4. Saros (PlayStation)
  5. Diablo IV (Xbox)
  6. MLB: The Show 26 (PlayStation)
  7. Resident Evil Requiem (Capcom)
  8. Pokémon: Pokopia (Nintendo)
  9. Minecraft (Xbox)
  10. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (Xbox)

Interestingly, this is the first month in a while where the monthly list features neither NHL 26 nor EA Sports FC 26, which were both developed by EA Vancouver. That said Quebec City-based Beenox assisted with development on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, while Ottawa’s Snowed In helped out with Bethesda’s Starfield.

Otherwise, the most notable thing was that Capcom’s first new IP in many years, Pragmata, topped the charts. Meanwhile, Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life, which some might have pegged as a more niche title, came in second, while PlayStation-owned Housemarque’s spiritual successor to ReturnalSaros, debuted in fourth. (It should be noted, however, that Saros launched at the very end of the month, April 30.)

For reference, here’s the U.S. top 10 for April, per Circana:

April 2026 U.S. Projected Top 10 Best-Selling Games Ranked on Physical & Full Game Digital Dollar Sales (Excludes Mobile and Digital Add-On Content)

Mat Piscatella (@matpiscatella.bsky.social) 2026-05-20T13:00:19.106Z

It should be noted that Circana’s U.S. lists have started to include projections of digital sales for titles from Nintendo and other companies — data that has historically not been factored into these lists. However, that hasn’t yet applied to the Canadian lists, so our usual comparisons won’t be quite the same.

Looking ahead, some of May’s biggest releases were Mixtape (digital only), Subnautica 2 (digital, early access), Forza Horizon 6Yoshi and the Mysterious BookLego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, 007 First Light and Mina the Hollower (digital only). It will be interesting to see which of these games makes the next top 10.
