Canadian OnePlus X owners can now get access to Android Marshmallow by downloading the latest Oxygen OS Community Build, 3.1.0.
Besides throwing in everything added with Android 6.0.0 and 6.0.1, including Doze, Marshmallow’s new battery saving feature, more granular app permissions and a number of new emoji, into one package, the update also adds a number of One Plus X specific upgrades.
To start, the One Plus X’s launcher has gotten a number of upgrades to bring it line with the OnePlus 3’s launcher. Once users download the Oxygen OS 3.1.0, they’ll get access to several new icon packs, the option to customize the Google search bar as well as a new interface for picking wallpapers.
Long pressing board elements located on the shelf, the special window located to the left of the home screen, now allows users to rearrange and remove them. Within the settings menu, there are new customization options related to the alert slider.
Last but not least, two new OnePlus apps, OnePlus Music and Gallery, are included in the update, for those who don’t want to use Google’s own offerings for any number of reasons. The update also includes the latest monthly Android security fixes.
