Facebook has become the latest company to offering a live streaming platform. The company today announced the release of Live for Mentions, a new feature inside its Mentions app. The catch here is that like the Mentions app itself, this feature can only be used by celebrities. Otherwise, it’s just like existing live streaming platforms like Meerkat and Periscope; anyone watching the stream can comment, and those doing the streaming can see how many people are watching them.
Facebook is launching Live for Mentions with the help of celebrities like Serena Williams, Ashley Tisdale and Canadian Michael Bublé.
