Google has launched it first Free App of the Week in its newly-launched Family category. The first app is PBS’s Daniel Tiger Grr-ific Feelings, a game for young children based on then popular Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
The move is the first time Google has discounted a single paid title on a limited basis – it regularly has sales where paid apps and games go free – and comes after Apple did the same thing in 2012.
It’s unclear whether Google’s App of the Week will always pertain to the Family section, but this is a great move on the company’s part to promote it.
