Evernote has updated its Windows Phone app with official support for WP8 (it took this long?) and a number of great features that will be embraced by the productivity community.
In addition to a massive performance boost, especially on newer devices, Evernote for Windows Phone now lets users take multiple photos in the same entry, which can be easily flipped through in a gallery view.
Users can also dictate their notes using the platform’s built-in voice dictation, which will then be parsed into words. As a bonus, after transcribing, the original voice note will remain available for easy perusal.
Smart Titles have also been added, which were already available on iOS and Android. Using a person’s location and calendar entries, Evernote will attempt to automatically add a relevant title to the note.
“We’re big fans of the Windows Phone platform. You’ll notice that in addition to all the great updates detailed above, the app is significantly faster and easier to navigate. Plus, it now supports Windows Phone 8. We have lots more in store.”
