Infographic shows RIM still dominates the Canadian mobile industry

Toronto-based Juice Mobile have released some new Canadian mobile stats. These are all based on their publisher ad impression levels and boldly state that “RIM’s death may be exaggerated and Android is taking a bite out of Apple.”

Another infographic has been produced that shows a breakdown of impression per OS, with the top 3 being BlackBerry, Apple and Android. Interestingly, it’s RIM who’s accounted for the most traffic with 45%, followed by Apple’s iOS with 34% (dropped 3% in month), then Google’s Android OS sitting at 20%, up 2%. The top device in Canada is the iPhone with 24%, but RIM’s smartphones, including the Torch 9800 and Curve 9300, make up a combined 35% and has 6 out of the top 10 devices. Specifically when it comes to Android devices, as expected, it’s Samsung being the clear leader with Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S and the Galaxy S II.

We’ve reached out to Juice for publisher stats, specfically how many they have on board and how many monthly impressions are served. While we are waiting for exact numbers, Neil Sweeney, President and CEO of Juice, stated their reach covers “hundreds of applications and publishers and hundreds of millions of impressions monthly.”
