We like Toronto-based Polar Mobile. They are one of the few Canadian companies that are truly succeeding in the global app market. Today date they have created successful apps such as The Hockey News, Time, NHLPA, Food Network, Toronto Maple Leafs and Bloomberg BusinessWeek.
Last week Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty stopped by their headquarters for a few minutes to speak his mind about jobs, taxes and how other Ontario companies can succeed like Polar. Probably the best moment of his appearance was the nice gesture that CEO Kunal Gupta gave him a new BlackBerry Torch 9800 full loaded with all their apps.
We’re guessing the Premier really doesn’t need it – the Government just signed a deal with the Big 3 for wireless services. However – very nice gesture from a stellar company. Check out the video after the break
