Gemini Spark Skills are getting easier to make, and Canadians can try it soon

Google is preparing to bring full Gemini Spark Skill management directly to the Gemini app on Android.

To add some context, Google’s Gemini-powered autonomous agent previously restricted full Skill management to the Gemini website, with mobile users only able to make conversational edits to an existing Skill file. Previously, mobile users could not create or organize these Skill files from scratch.

Now, in Google app v17.45.14, Android Authority spotted evidence that Google would soon give mobile users the same controls as the web interface.

Basically, Android app users will be able to access a dedicated Skills section within the top-right overflow menu within the Gemini app. This menu displays a full Skill management page that includes recommended Skills and active/inactive Skills across your platforms.

If you tap the add button (the plus sign in the corner), a small popup will appear with two distinct Skill creation paths: Create with Gemini and Create manually. Clicking Create with Gemini opens a guided setup where you can use natural language to describe your goal, and Gemini uses conversational prompts to draft the Skill for you. Creating the Skill manually will give you a bare-bones editor that gives you full control over the Skill name, description, and some custom instructions.

Now, this comes after Gemini Spark’s debut at Google I/O, but it didn’t launch in Canada initially. However, a blog post from Google a few days ago detailed that Spark would be rolling out to Canadians over the coming weeks, which comes at a perfect time with this new feature on the horizon.
