The Big Con, the acclaimed adventure game from Toronto-based indie developer Mighty Yell, is now available on Android and iOS.
On mobile, you can try out the first level of the game for free, with the option to make a one-time $7.99 purchase to unlock the rest of the story. The mobile version, which is appropriately called The Big Con Everywhere, joins the existing PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC versions of the game.
In The Big Con, you play as Ali, a spunky teen who goes on a road trip across ’90s America to steal enough money to save her mother’s video store. The game sports a colourful Doug-inspired art style, quirky humour and a catchy theme song from Rockapella (Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?). It was even one of the featured titles in the inaugural Tribeca Games Festival in 2021.
You can download The Big Con Everywhere on Android and iOS. Honestly, $7.99 for such a great (and Canadian) indie game is a steal. It’s also 90 per cent off on Steam until July 9.
Alongside The Big Con, Mighty Yell is behind the VR game A Knight in the Attic, last year’s Missile Command Delta alongside fellow Toronto developer 13AM Games, and the upcoming All Systems Dance. The team is also assisting development on Barbie Rewind, which releases on November 12, amusingly making it one of the few games to release in such close proximity to GTA VI.
It’s also worth noting that Saffron Aurora, the art director on The Big Con, is leading her own Toronto team, Kitten Cup, on Capy Castaway, an upcoming cozy adventure game inspired by the city’s infamous Bonnie and Clyde capybara escape.
