Amazon is rolling out Alexa+ on the web, but it isn’t available in Canada quite yet

The feature is only available for Alexa+ Early Access subscribers

Alexa is no longer confined to just Amazon-branded devices, as the AI assistant is now being rolled out on the Alexa.com website for Alexa+ Early Access customers. There is one catch, however; it isn’t available in Canada quite yet.

Availability aside, the web model won’t be much different from the existing Alexa+ that is currently available for the Echo, FireTV, and Fire Tablet. However, instead of buying a dedicated device within Amazon’s ecosystem, you can use any web browser to access Alexa+ for everything from basic questions to complex tasks, such as controlling your smart home devices, customizing recipe amounts, or making reservations. The web version will also feature a navigation sidebar that will show your most-used Alexa features.

From the looks of it, Amazon is entering a market currently dominated by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Although the web client is not available in Canada yet, I doubt it will remain unavailable for long. Alexa+ launched in Canada back in November, so it’s already available on newer Echo hardware and will eventually come to older devices. Plus, Alexa+ is still accessible through the Alexa app.
