After a weekend of hard-fought games (see the score of game 1?), the series heads to Los Angeles all tied at one game apiece.
Game three of the World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers takes place at 8 p.m. ET tonight, Monday, October 27, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
The Blue Jays announced that Max Scherzer will get the nod for game three of the series, the first game in the U.S. Scherzer, 41, last pitched in game four of the ALCS against the Mariners, pitching just over five innings, giving up only two runs with five strikeouts. This is Scherzer’s second appearance in the postseason.
The Dodgers, on the other hand, have tapped Tyler Glasnow to be the starter for game three. Glasnow has been lights out so far this postseason, pitching to a 0.68 Earned Runs Average (ERA) in 13 innings of work across three appearances, two of those being starts. Glasnow has also recorded 18 strikeouts so far this postseason. He last pitched in game three of the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers, giving up his only run of the postseason across five innings of work, with eight strikeouts, three walks, and three hits in a 3-1 win.
If the Blue Jays want to get a win in game three, they are going to need to get past the starter and get to the bullpen, which has struggled this series, especially in game one.
Where to Watch
Like with game one, Mississauga is also continuing to host its Blue Jays watch parties at Celebration Square, starting at 7 p.m. (one hour before first pitch). Newmarket will also host its Blue Jays watch party after not hosting it for game two. This will be at the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre, with free pizza and popcorn provided.
As mentioned in the post for game one, most restaurants, bars, and pubs will likely be playing the game on TV. For those within the City of Toronto itself, restaurants like The Loose Moose, The Pint, and Real Sports Bar & Grill will all be accepting walk-ins, with The Loose Moose not taking any reservations, serving on a first-come, first-served basis.
For those looking to host their own watch party, Canadian viewers can watch the game on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+. CityTV, and its streaming service CityTV+, will also show the game; however, they will be broadcasting the American-based Fox telecast.
As of writing, the monthly cost for Sportsnet+ is C$29.99 per month, or C$249.99 per year for the annual plan. The premium tier, which gives subscribers more out-of-market NHL games and other MLB broadcasts, along with other perks, costs C$42.99 per month or C$349.99 per year with annual payments.
As mentioned previously, there is a package which bundles CityTV+ and Sportsnet+ for a few dollars more than the standard package (C$31.99 per month), and will give users access to more content following the World Series. It was noted that users could also get a 7-day free trial of CityTV+ with an Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Anyone with a satellite TV subscription can access the Sportsnet+ app using their login info. However, content is limited based on subscription.
If you prefer to go back to the good ol’ days and listen to the World Series on the radio, it’s finally available on all three Sportsnet Radio Stations (590 The Fan, 960 The Fan, and 650 The Fan). The game is also being broadcast on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, where listeners can tune in to channel 175 for the Blue Jays’ radio crew, or 176 for the Dodgers’ radio commentators. The package that gets you MLB games is the Platinum Plan, which costs C$29.99 per month.
