Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will launch on PC (Steam) and Android and iOS on September 11th.

The Square Enix RPG originally debuted on the Nintendo Switch last December. Notably, this is the first game in the Dragon Quest Monsters series to be released outside of Japan since 2011’s Joker 2.

In Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, a demon prince named Psaro is cursed from harming monsters, leading him to recruit and fight alongside creatures in a journey across the fantastical world of Nadiria. An in-game season system will change the landscape and open up new creatures, while the evolved synthesis system will allow players to combine monsters to create new ones. Altogether, The Dark Prince features over 500 monsters.

On top of all that, the PC and mobile ports of The Dark Prince include all DLC that was included in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the Switch version of the game. This includes special dungeons and a mysterious treasure chest that can be opened every hour.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince isn’t the only Dragon Quest coming this year. Dragon Quest 3 will be the latest game from Team Asano (Octopath TravelerLive A Live) to get the stunning HD-2D visual overhaul. The appropriately named Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is coming on November 14th to PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PC. HD-2D remakes of the first two Dragon Quest games are also set to launch next year.
