Keanu Reeves turns 60 on September 2nd, and to celebrate, Cineplex will host screenings of some of the Toronto-raised actor’s fan-favourite movies.
From the end of August to the end of September, you’ll be able to check out the following six Reeves movies at participating Cineplex theatres:
- Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (35th anniversary) — August 30th and 31st
- The Matrix (25th anniversary) — September 6th and 7th
- RiffTrax Live: Point Break — September 17th [featuring commentary from RiffTrax]
- John Wick (10th anniversary) — September 20th and 21st
- Parenthood (VIP) — September 23rd
- Something’s Gotta Give (VIP) — September 30th
Personally, I’m a bit disappointed Speed isn’t included here, but otherwise, it’s a pretty well-rounded list. If you don’t want to head to theatres, you can check out our round-up of where to stream many of Reeves’ most popular movies in Canada. (Note that this was put together last year, so some of the titles may no longer be on the services listed due to expiring licensing deals.)
If you’re in the mood for video games, Reeves also co-starred in last year’s acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion. And speaking of games, he’s also voicing fan-favourite character Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which hits theatres in December.
