Tinder launches new feature to let your friends help you find your next match

The feature is now available in Canada

Tinder is now allowing users to put their potential matches through a “friend test.”

According to the online dating application’s news release, its new feature would allow you to invite your friends and family to the app, even if they don’t have a Tinder account, and recommend potential matches for you.

The feature essentially allows you to share a unique link with up to 15 friends in a 24-hour period. These friends can then browse and suggest profiles for the primary user, though they can not chat on the primary user’s behalf.

The primary user can see who their friends liked for them, but they still have the final say on who to swipe right on.

“For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder, and now we’re making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker,” says Melissa Hobley, Chief Marketing Officer at Tinder. “Tinder Matchmaker brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you see the possibilities you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you.”

The feature is now available in Canada, the United States, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. It will be rolling out to Tinder users globally in the coming months.

Tinder is available as a free to download iOS and Android app.
