The Versa, Fitbit’s latest smartwatch, is now available in Canada.

A more affordable take on the company’s ‘first true’ smartwatch, the Versa features a more compact and attractive design, a battery rated to last four-plus days on a single charge and waterproofing up to a depth of 50m. Not included is standalone GPS tracking.

Canadian consumers can purchase the wearable at a variety of major national retailers, including Amazon, Telus, Best Buy, Sport Chek, Indigo and London Drugs, starting at $249.95 CAD.

Versa is also available via Fitbit’s online store.

The smartwatch is available in three colour options — black case with black band, silver case with gray band and rose gold case with peach band. A more expensive special edition Versa smartwatch, priced at $299.95 CAD, includes support for Fitbit Pay, the company’s mobile payments platform, which currently supports RBC cards in Canada.

“We’re thrilled for consumers around the world to experience Versa, a beautifully designed smartwatch for all with advanced health and fitness features, access to our large global social network and smart features people find most useful at an approachable price,” said Fitbit CEO James Park in a press release.

“We believe Versa is a smartwatch that will have mass appeal, attracting new audiences and helping us capture a previously untapped segment of users in this growing wearables category.”

MobileSyrup recently reviewed Versa and found it to be Fitbit’s most accessible and best smartwatch to date.
