Some Pixel 2 owners are reporting that they’re hearing high pitched frequency sounds and clicking during calls, according to various posts on Google’s official Pixel forum.
User ‘Roy M.’ says that the issue happens after the phone has been rebooted, when it’s in safe mode, airplane mode, and even following a factory reset. The user also says that they purchased two Pixel 2 devices and both smartphones suffer from the problem.

Other users have reported similar problems on XDA Developers‘ official forum. Phone Arena’s review of the Pixel 2 also mentions the problem. The strange high-frequency noise can be heard in this brief SoundCloud clip.
It’s unclear how many Pixel 2 devices are suffering from this issue, but according to Google’s official support forum, those effected can send in an RMA request with the tech giant to get their smartphone replaced, according to the company’s official support forum.
As a side note, some users are reporting that a temporary fix to the problem is turning off the Pixel 2’s NFC feature.
Shortly after release, Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus suffered from a similar hissing issue that occurred during phone calls, though Apple solved the problem via a software update.
