HTC’s Vive companion app is now available for iOS, enabling iPhone users to receive calls, text messages and calendar reminders within the VR headset.
The app’s description states that it will deliver these alerts without interrupting play and that they will appear in the Vive tab on the system dashboard so users can view them later. Unlike in the Android version, users do not have the option to send preset messages in response to calls or messages.
The app has been available for Android since earlier this month. It first appeared on the App Store ahead of the Vive’s official launch on March 31st, before being quickly pulled.
Currently, the Vive is the only headset offering a companion app that connects to a user’s phone.
