Toronto-based DrinkBox’s Severed will launch on April 26

We finally know the official release date of what could be the last PlayStation Vita title worth playing.

Toronto-based DrinkBox Studios’ Severed, a unique first-person dungeon crawling throwback, will land on the PlayStation Vita on April 26, 2016.

A new trailer for the game (seen above) has also dropped. Severed was originally slated to launch sometime in Spring 2015, but following the release of an early demo at Sony’s PlayStation Experience in December 2014, DrinkBox delayed the game’s release, adding an entire extra year to the title’s development.

DrinkBox is most known for developing the critically acclaimed platformer Guacamelee.

While the studio has yet to make an announcement to this effect, given Severed’s focus on touchscreen based gameplay, it’s likely that the game will eventually make its way to Android and iOS devices at some point in the future.

During an interview at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany in August, DrinkBox’s co-founder Shane Smith said, “I think eventually you’ll find it on pretty much any device that makes sense.”
