AndroidTO, Canada’s largest Android meetups and one of Toronto’s best tech events, has announced the lineup of its fifth annual conference, which takes place October 30th.
While previous years saw AndroidTO expand to include both design and business tracks, this year will see the conference return to its roots, with one day long developer-focused track. The content streamlining makes sense: with Android L, Material Design and new Android-based device categories like Android Wear, Android Auto, and Android TV, there’s simply too much going on in Google’s mobile development ecosystem to cover anything else.
AndroidTO’s speaker agenda certainly reflects the diversity of options awaiting Android developers. Conference co-founder BNOTIONS and longtime participant Tumblr will be speaking, and so too will wearable technology startup LynxFit, as well as Android open-source stalwarts Cyanogen Inc. Sadly, with only one speaker track, ScotiaBank Theatre’s popcorn-infused multi-theatre venue has been replaced with the fancy digs of the MaRS Discovery District.
