Wind Mobile makes it pretty easy for users to top up online, via text or in store via top up cards but starting tomorrow, customers will have yet another option. According to a leaked document obtained by MobileSyrup, the carrier will soon allow customers to top up directly in store.
Currently, customers can top up in store but it’s a two-step process. It required the purchase of a top up card, which are only available in set denominations, and then you had to go and top up yourself using the card. It’s not massively inconvenient, but it does mean those of us with customized add-ons either have to overspend on top-up cards or try and make up the right amount with multiple cards in varying denominations.
From Thursday, August 14, you’ll be able to walk into a Wind Mobile store and buy a top up with any value, customizable right down to the penny. The top-up will also be automatically added to your account, so you no longer have to manually top up via *123# and the subsequent prompts.
What’s not clear is if you’ll be able to walk in and top up another number. Right now, you can top up online and add money to another account just by entering the associated phone number. You can also transfer credit to other accounts via the credit transfer service. It would be awesome if you could walk into a store and just top up a friend or family member’s phone outright.
