This morning I got a quick hands-on with the upcoming Motorola ATRIX. I first saw this beast of a device back in January at CES but it’s now officially coming to Canada on March 17th via Bell.
This ships with Android 2.2 Froyo and “there are plans in the works for an upgrade to OS 2.3”. The specs are impressive: 4-inch qHD (Quarter High Definition) display with a resolution of 960 x 540, 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core processor, 1GB RAM and 1930 mAh battery, Flash Player 10.1, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, VGA front-facing camera, Biometric fingerprint reader for security, holds up to 48GB with a microSD card (16GB internal and optional 32GB) and WiFi.
Bell will also be pre-loading the Atrix Bell Remote PVR, GPS Navigator, Kobo eReader and also 3 games: Asphalt 5, Uno and Let’s Golf. As for accessories, you can check out the full list of Atrix accessories here… but the Lapdock will go for $499.95 and the HD Multimedia Dock will be available for $129.95.
In addition, we’re also hearing Bell will be bundling the Atrix, Lapdock and the HD Multimedia Dock into one set price. No official word but apparently it’ll be announced sometime this week.
We’ll have our full review up shortly but for now here’s an incredibly quick video hardware overview with David Petrou, Director of Sales, Motorola Mobility Canada. Nothing really different that the previous video we shot but it’s good to see Bell on the homescreen.
