The Galaxy View, Samsung’s recently announced TV replacement tablet, is now available in Canada.
Priced at $699, the View is available in this country exclusively through Bell and The Source.
In addition to Android 5.1 and a video-centric skin designed by Samsung, this version of the tablet comes preloaded with Bell’s Fibe TV app. For those with a Bell TV subscription, the Fibe TV app allows one to use the View to watch live TV without having to rent additional digital terminals from the company.
While far from the most powerful tablet on the market, the View is a well-equipped modern device. It includes a 18.4-inch 1080p display (a screen density of 119 pixel per inch), one of Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 7580 processors clocked at 1.6Ghz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal storage and a 5,700mAh battery that Samsung and Bell claim can power the device through eight-and-a-half hours of continuous video playback.
In terms of connectivity, the View comes equipped with Bluetooth 4.1 and an 802.11ac WiFi module.
