Virgin Mobile waiving the $35 Activation Fee “until further notice”

Can you believe that screensot above? Those Virgin Angels slightly opened up the heavens. Effective tomorrow, September 21st, Virgin Mobile is axing the dreaded $35 Activation Fee “until further notice”. The internal doc says that the fee will be waived on all plans, phones, smartphones, tablets and data sticks for those new members who sign up on a 3-year contract, SuperTab or month to month. In addition, Virgin will also waive the fee when you bring your phone over from another carrier and just get a SIM. They just want you as a new “member”. Call it competition, call it a positive step forward or a possibly an end of Summer gift… bottom line is that the 35 bucks is better in your pocket. Hopefully parent-company Bell follows and does the same.

(Thanks tipster!)
