A new OpenSignal report has named Telus as “Best Network” based on a variety of metrics.
For its latest Canada Mobile Network Experience Report, the mobile analytics company ranked Canada’s Big Three carriers on 15 different metrics as measured between April 1 and June 29.
Overall, OpenSignal found that while Rogers won the most awards with nine total, Telus was ultimately the “Best Network” due to its “joint wins for Reliability and Consistent Quality, its outright win for Download Speed, and joint win for Coverage (tied with Bell).” Meanwhile, Bell retained its lead for 5G Download while Rogers won in Upload Speed.
While the report focuses on Bell, Rogers and Telus for a nationwide perspective, it does also include a separate overview for regional carriers like Sasktel, Freedom Mobile and its sister company Videotron. While the Big Three still claimed all of OpenSignal’s awards in these areas, Freedom Mobile did perform well in Alberta and B.C.
