Insta360 has just released a new USB-C selfie screen called “the snap selfie screen.”
The device is a small display screen that plugs into your phone’s USB-C port while sitting at the back of the phone. The objective is to help you utilize your back camera for high-resolution selfies or videos. The touchscreen is 3.5 inches, and comes with adjustable camera settings like zoom, focus, and frame for your selfies or videos before you take them.
The action camera-based company also released a different model that was co-developed with AMIRO, a beauty tech brand. This model has a built-in light with colour temperatures and brightness levels. The snap selfie screen is 6.8mm thick and is also attached magnetically to the back of iPhones that are compatible with MagSafe. According to Insta360, the Snap also supports Android phones that have DisplayPort Alt mode, and it also includes a magnetic ring for other devices.
The Snap is also compatible with third-party camera and social media apps, for effortless posting and recording. Though offered with Magsafe, Insta360 claims that a connection via USB-C allows for a more stable and smaller latency feed.
Many phones like the iPhone 17 series and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series are equipped with cameras that have three to five times the resolution of their front cameras. So for creators, this selfie-enhancing screen could be a must-buy for anyone trying to enhance the quality of their content.
The standard version is priced at C$114.99, while the version with light is priced a little higher at C$129.99.
