Rogers raising internet/TV bundle prices by $7 in March

Customers are reporting that Rogers will raise the prices of its home internet and TV packages by $7/mo in March.

According to a post on the r/Rogers subreddit, a customer received a notice from Rogers about the upcoming bill increase:

“We continually invest in our network to bring you our best-connected experience in Canada. To help support these investments, we will be increasing the monthly fee for your internet package by $7 (plus taxes) starting your first bill on or after March 23, 2026.”

Another user on the post also noted that they received the same notice from Rogers and that it appears to apply to all Xfinity Internet/TV packages.

Currently, Rogers offers three tiers of Essentials for the area listed in the Reddit post (downtown Toronto): TV, Popular TV, and Ultimate TV with StreamSaver. The prices range from $100/mo to $260/mo, depending on the plan and contract type (monthly or 24-month).

This bill increase comes conveniently after Rogers invested $50 million in a program to help Canadian youth balance screen time, and after a set of layoffs that affected roughly 100 internal IT workers.

Honestly, I was looking around at the options, and there aren’t many cheaper TV/Internet bundles out there. The budget-friendly option (if you are in a similar position to the poster and don’t use TV much) would be to switch from a bundle to a standalone internet plan, then shop for providers and get an honestly much better deal than what Rogers is offering.
