PlayStation has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch exclusively on PS5 on September 15, 2026.
The gaming giant had previously confirmed a fall 2026 window when it showed off the first-ever gameplay for the highly-anticipated superhero game last September.
Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed by Insomniac Games, the team behind PlayStation’s massively popular Marvel’s Spider-Man series, and is set in that same universe. The action-adventure game follows Wolverine (Spartacus‘ Liam McIntyre) as he embarks on a bloody search for answers into his past. While we don’t know much else about the story, Insomniac has confirmed a number of familiar Marvel faces, including Sabretooth, Mystique, Omega Red and the Sentinels. The game is also fully M-rated, leaning into the blood-soaked violence that defines Wolverine.
It should be noted that Insomniac has said we’ll see more of the game in the spring, so presumably, that will be within the next couple of months. In the meantime, PlayStation has a couple of other notable first-party games on the way. First, Bungie’s Marathon will drop on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on March 5, while Saros, the next action game from Returnal maker Housemarque, will land on PS5 on April 30.
