Montreal-based Tribute Games has confirmed that its highly-anticipated Scott Pilgrim EX beat ’em up game will be released on March 3.
The launch date was revealed alongside a new trailer showing off two new playable characters, Matthew Patel and Robot-01.
In an original story written in collaboration with Canadian Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, Scott Pilgrim EX follows Scott and Ramona on a time-hopping adventure across a futuristic Toronto. The game will support single-player and up to four-player co-op.
It’s also worth noting that some members of Tribute Games, the studio behind acclaimed beat ’em ups TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge and last year’s Marvel Cosmic Invasion, also worked on Ubisoft’s original fan-favourite Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game. And if all of that weren’t enough, pop band Anamanaguchi is contributing music to EX, having previously worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game and the Netflix anime Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
All of that is to say that Scott Pilgrim EX should be another worthy entry in the beloved Canadian series.
The game is coming digitally to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. A physical edition is also in the works.
