Civilization VII is the latest PC game coming to Apple Arcade

Civ VII and three other titles will land on the game subscription next month

Apple is adding a few new games to its Arcade gaming subscription next month, including popular PC game Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.

Starting Feb. 5, Apple Arcade subscribers will be able to access the Arcade Edition of Civ VII on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. In Civ VII, for those unfamiliar with the title, players can select from many historic leaders and guide their civilization from its early beginnings to the modern era.

I’ve been a big fan of the Civilization games for some time, though I admittedly haven’t played much of the most recent entry (mostly because it lacks a hotseat mode, which means I can’t easily play it with my wife like with previous titles in the series). Still, I’ve always thought a portable Civ game would be great — because the game is turn-based, it’d be perfect as a mobile title, allowing players to pop in and knock out a turn or two whenever it’s convenient.

Apple Arcade is getting three other titles alongside Civ VII on Feb. 5. First up is Retrocade, which lets players use their Vision Pro headset to enter an ’80s arcade and play old-school titles like AsteroidsBubble BobbleCentipedeGalaga, and more. Don’t have a Vision Pro? You can still enjoy the various Retrocade games on iPhone or iPad.

Next up is Felicity’s Door, a new rhythm game that takes players through the magical dream work of twins Tom and the titular Felicity.

Finally, there’s App Store fan-favourite I Love Hue Too+, a psychedelic puzzle game where players arrange mosaics of colourful light tiles into ordered spectrums.

The new games join over 200 other titles available on Apple Arcade. If you’re interested in trying out any of these titles, you can subscribe to Apple Arcade for $8.99/mo in Canada. Alternatively, if you use several Apple services, you could subscribe to Apple One to bundle together iCloud+, Apple TV, Music, and Arcade starting at $22.95/mo.
