A fan-favourite GameCube game has finally come to Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo confirmed on Thursday night that 2005’s Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is now available on its subscription service. Like all other GameCube games on Switch Online, it’s only offered to Nintendo Switch 2, and a $69.99/year Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership is required.
Nintendo first confirmed that Path of Radiance was coming to Switch Online during the big Switch 2 Direct last year, but we didn’t know when — until now. It’s a particularly good get for the service, as it’s considered one of the best entries, if not the best entry, in Nintendo’s long-running Fire Emblem series.
Notably, the game follows Ike, who many know from his appearance in multiple Super Smash Bros. games, as he fights to restore the heir to the throne of the invaded kingdom of Crimea. It was also the series’ first 3D game.
The timing of Path of Radiance‘s Switch Online release is also appropriate since it will help tide fans over for the series’ next mainline entry, Fortune’s Weave. The game is set to launch sometime later this year on Switch 2, and it appears to be directly connected to 2019’s beloved Three Houses.
All of this follows Nintendo’s surprise September 2025 release of Fire Emblem Shadows, an Among Us-inspired mobile game that was critically panned. Thankfully, we have Path of Radiance and Fortune’s Weave to make up for that.
