Google is rolling out new AI features for the recently released Google Pixel Watch 4, which the company says expand on ‘One Handed Gestures’ and further enhance ‘Smart Replies.’

According to Google, the new features include new one-handed gestures like double pinch and a quick wrist turn. The double pinch allows you to answer/end calls, pause timers, and more. Google notes that they will also provide hints (unique to the Pixel Watch) on when to use the new double pinch feature.

The new quick wrist turn could also be used for calls, but mostly to dismiss them. Google notes that this could be useful during the holidays to discreetly silence a call in the checkout line; however, I could see busy commuters using it on the go to silence an incoming call while heading to the office.

Google’s smarter Smart Replies for the Pixel Watch 3 and 4 now use an all-new, on-watch model that reportedly is twice as fast, and uses half the battery life (definitely a huge bonus). Google also states that the quality and preference rate have been enhanced, adding that 97 per cent of users found it was now equal to or better than before in a blind study.

Google has also noted that Raise to Talk has become more popular and, as such, has released a step-by-step tutorial as a ‘refresher.’

The Google Pixel Watch 4 comes in two sizes: 41mm and 45 mm, and sports a new domed display, which is referred to as ‘Actua 360.’ There are also three colours for Google’s latest smartwatch: Moonstone, Porcelain, and Obsidian. The 41mm retails for C$479.99, while the 45mm is a bit more expensive, retailing for C$549.99.
