Tinder launches new on-app AI game in Canada that rates your flirting skills

The game uses GPT-based AI to help with your 'Rizz'

Tinder has launched a new game in Canada that uses OpenAI’s GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini. The game, weirdly called The Game Game, is a low-pressure experience designed to help users find a different way to communicate and build confidence.

Here’s how it works, according to the Tinder press release.

  • Tap the Tinder logo on the home screen to unlock.
  • The AI generates a scenario to flex your flirting skills. Sessions are capped at 5 per day!
  • Chat with the AI
  • Get scored on a 3-flame scale to see if you’re a flirt pro!
  • Check your score to brag about your performance.

Essentially, you’ll be able to choose from different scenarios, and GPT will create an AI persona based on the age and gender of the people you’re interested in. Users can also refresh for different AI personas, as well.

Then, the AI will test your communication skills by allowing you to reply vocally. Depending on your reply, the AI will keep the conversation going or wrap it up. Following that, your conversations will get a rating, and the AI will provide real-time feedback throughout the experience. The more charming, humourous and wit you bring to the conversation, the better. If the AI doesn’t like your response, it’ll suggest ways to change it, such as toning down the sarcasm. The better the conversation, the more likely you’ll earn all three flames.

At the end of the session, you’ll receive feedback regardless of your score, and the AI will tell you how to improve and what can be avoided next time. You can then save your score and share it with friends.

I think I’m pretty smooth and flirty, but I’m still very single, so I’ll give this a shot. Hopefully, I can earn all three flames.
