During Samsung’s Unpacked event, the company surprisingly announced the Galaxy S25 Edge, a slimmer version of some S25 handsets. After the event, we got a look at the S25 Edge, but we weren’t allowed to touch or even go near the device.

However, with a slimmer body, the device comes with a slimmer battery. According to a leak from Abhishek Yadav, using the 3C certification website, the device will be powered by a 3,900mAh battery and only offer 25W charging. It’s still unclear whether the device will feature wireless charging. This is similar to the base S25, which offers the same charging speed and a 4,000mAh battery.  Oddly, the device’s display is about the same size as the S25+, so it’s surprising the handset will have a smaller battery than the base model.

Given its relatively small design, it makes sense that the S25 Edge would sport a smaller battery. The handset is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which powers the rest of the S25 line. The S25 Edge may sport the recently reported 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite variant, which should help with thermals and offer a better battery life.

We expect the handset to arrive in the next few months.
