Upgraded Specs

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra gets a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide, an upgrade from the 12-megapixel ultra on the S24 Ultra. This new ultrawide provides a new and improved macro photography mode, offering crisp details incredibly close to the subject. The S25 Ultra has different design elements, with the handset sporting rounded corners and a flat frame, which matches the rest of the S25 family. This also allowed Samsung to increase the screen size, going from a 6.8-inch display to a 6.9-inch display.

The Galaxy S25 gets more memory, now offering 12GB of RAM, matching the rest of the S25 family.

Of course, all three devices are now paired with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which allows them to run smoother and quicker and offer more AI power.

Galaxy AI and One UI 7.0

Now included in the Galaxy S25 series, and eventually going to the older devices, are new features such as the Now Bar, Now Brief, AI Select, Audio Eraser, and Best Face. Now Bar is Samsung’s take on Apple’s Dynamic Island, which appears on the look screen. It’ll show important information like how much longer you have on a timer or how long you’ve been recording your interview. Samsung says that this works with all of Samsung’s native apps and Google apps as well. Samsung says third-party apps like Spotify and WhatsApp also work with the Now Bar; however, the company will also work with more companies to get them on it. The Now Bar gets a live section in the top right corner, showcasing mostly the same stuff you’d see on the lock screen. Samsung couldn’t confirm whether every app that works on the Now Bar will also appear here, but the company said “most” will.

Now Brief takes a couple of days to understand your patterns, but after that, it’ll offer a summary of your day. You’ll see the weather, some news that might interest you, and any events you have for the day. Now Brief works with Samsung Routines, Digital Wellbeing, Travel, Music and Podcasts, YouTube Shorts, and even traffic updates.

The AI Select feature lets you quickly translate, make wallpapers, make GIFs and more by selecting something on your screen. This feature is contextual and reacts to what’s on the screen. The Audio Eraser feature can easily remove unwanted video audio, and Best Face is Samsung’s take on Google’s Best Take. This allows users to take pictures, and if someone is blinking or sneezing in the picture, you can pull up the Best Face feature, which pulls from the ‘live picture’ functionality, and it’ll let you swap the person’s face.
