The 2025 top Global Cleantech list features 100 companies slated to make a difference in green technology over the next few years.
Canada tied for second place with nine green companies representing us. Out of those, five are from B.C. — most are in Vancouver, but one is in Victoria and the final one is in Burnaby. The U.S. had the most companies on the list and the U.K. tied with Canada at nine companies.
While nine companies on the list is impressive, it’s actually less than the 13 we had last year. “While some long-standing players have fallen off the list, it raises the question: has Canada’s cleantech innovation pipeline begun to lose momentum? If so, understanding the reasons behind this trend is critical,” said Richard Youngman, CEO of the Cleantech Group, according to Techcouver.
The full list of Canadian companies on this list is as follows;
- Emerson — Toronto, ON
- e-Zinc — Mississauga, ON
- Ionomr Innovations — Vancouver, B.C
- Mangrove Lithium — Vancouver, B.C
- pH7 Technologies — Vancouver, B.C
- Summit Nanotech — Calgary, AB
- Svante — Burnaby, B.C
- Cyclic Materials — Kingston, ON
- Pani — Victoria, B.C
