I’ve been talking to many friends about my Spotify Wrapped and noticed that people aren’t using Spotify as much anymore. I’ve always used Spotify because I like its UI, it’s easy to use, and the layout is excellent; you can see what your friends are listening to (on desktop), and it lets me know when some of my favourite artists are having a concert.

However, some friends seem to prefer YouTube Music because of its AI algorithms, playlists, and ability to get music from any source. Others like Apple Music because it offers improved audio quality and a more seamless experience for Apple users.

Plus, Spotify recently raised prices for Canadians in response to the Streaming Act, making it even more expensive.

Maybe I’ll make the change next year. I already pay for YouTube Premium, so I don’t have to sit through YouTube ads and can download videos while travelling.
