PlayStation users have reported a bug causing game art backgrounds to get replaced by promotional marketing and game news.
The issue was fixed, according to the @AskPlayStation X account.
A tech error with the Official News feature on the PS5 console has since been resolved. There have been no changes to the way game news is displayed on PS5.

However, that’s not the only recent PlayStation issue. Last night, the PlayStation Network was down for several hours. Even hours following the outage, the PlayStation Network Service website shows that ‘Gaming and social’ is still experiencing problems.
“You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.” I was able to turn on same games though, so it seems as this isn’t affecting all PS5 owners.
