Here are Canadian carriers’ 2017 Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals

Perhaps the biggest consumer event of the year is upon us: Black Friday.

Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, customers rush to snatch up all the best deals on big-ticket items for holiday gifts or just that new gadget they’ve had their eyes on for a while.

Often, buyers are looking for a new phone or a great new plan, and Canadian carriers offer up promotions accordingly.

Below, find all the carrier deals for 2017 in one convenient location. This post will be updated as more deals are revealed.

Vidéotron

The Quebec-regional carrier is offering discounts on several premium handsets, including the below:

  • 256GB iPhone 7 for $309.95 down with a 7GB + 2GB Premium+ plan at $97.95 for two years
  • 32GB Huawei P10 for $0 down with a 5GB + 2GB Premium plan at $77.95 for two years
  • 32GB Samsung Galaxy S7 for $0 down with a 5GB + 2GB Premium plan at $77.95 for two years

Freedom Mobile

Shaw-owned budget carrier Freedom is offering three Black Friday deals until November 26th. The offers are as follows:

  • Save up to $450 with MyTab — several devices have larger MyTab Boost savings than usual. Currently all of Freedom’s devices are at $0 down. 
  • Save up to $200 with BYOD — customers will receive a $200 credit ($10 per month for 20 months) when they activate their own device on a Big Gig or Big+ Everywhere Canada plan. They can also nab a $100 credit ($10 month for 10 months) when they activate on the Home 40 plan.
  • Save $5 per month permanently when activating and remaining on a Home 25 or Home 30 plan.

Bell

Bell is offering 1GB of bonus data per month on certain two-year plans for both activations and upgrades. Additionally, it has reduced prices on a wide range of devices, including the following:

  • Samsung Galaxy S8 at $0 down on two-year Premium Plus plan
  • iPhone 8 Plus at $359.99 down on two-year Premium Plus plan
  • LG V30 at $0 down on two-year Premium Plus plan
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at $299.99 down on two-year Premium Plus plan
  • iPhone X at $599.99 down on two-year Premium Plus plan
  • Google Pixel 2 XL at $249.99 down on two-year Premium Plus plan

Bell is also offering a minimum $100 trade-in credit for old devices in good condition.

Bell’s sub-brand Virgin is offering 2GB of bonus data for activations and upgrades on certain plans. It’s also offering discounted prices on device, including the following:

  • Samsung Galaxy S7 at $0 down on two-year Platinum plan
  • Samsung Galaxy A5 at $0 down on two-year Gold plan, plus bonus $100 Visa prepaid gift card
  • LG Q6 at $0 down on two-year Gold plan, plus bonus $100 Visa prepaid gift card
  • Motorola Moto Z2 Play at $0 down on a two-year Gold plan
  •  Huawei P10 lite at $0 down on a two-year Gold plan, plus bonus $100 Visa prepaid gift card

Rogers

The centerpiece of Rogers’ ‘Wrapped in Red Event’ is the offer of a free Google Home (regularly priced at $179.99 CAD) with the activation or upgrade of any Android phone on two-year Smart, Premium or Premium+ tab 10GB Share Everything plans or higher.

Additionally, the carrier is offering discounts on a range of popular Androids and iPhones, as shown below:

  • Apple iPhone 8 64GB – $0 on Premium+ tab
  • Apple iPhone 7 128GB/256GB – $0 on Premium+ tab
  • Samsung S8 – $0 on Premium + tab
  • Samsung S7 – $0 on Premium tab

As for rate plan bonuses: in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and throughout its Atlantic footprint, Rogers is offering a 2GB data bonus for 24 months when customers upgrade their phone or activate Share Everything plans with 1GB to 10GB on a primary line.

The carrier is also offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab E LTE tablet for $0 down when bundled with S7, S8, S8+, and Note8 on a two-year tablet additional line plan for $10 per month. Previously it was $49.

Finally, if any of those new devices buyers pick up need accompanying cases — Rogers is offering 50 percent off certain accessories, including cases, speakers, and headphones.

Fido

For Fido’s Black Friday promotion, it’s offering the following device discounts:

  • Apple iPhone 7 — $0 on a 2-year Large plan
    Apple iPhone 6s — $0 on a 2-year Medium Plan
  • Galaxy A5 – $0 on a Medium plan
  • Galaxy S7 – $0 on a Large plan
  • Galaxy S8 – $199 on a Large plan
  • LG G6 – $0 on a Large plan
  • LG G Pad IV – $0 on a 2 year data plan

Additionally, Fido is providing a 2GB data bonus for 24 months on certain plans, as well as a $10 discount for 12 months.

Fido also has a promotional two-year contract tablet plan that offers 3GB of data per month for $15. The plan competes closely with Freedom Mobile’s new $15 4GB tablet promo plan, which ends November 23rd.

SaskTel

SaskTel is offering a $200 sign-up credit when customers sign up on a two-year voice and data plan, along with a variety of sale prices on devices, including those listed below:

  • Apple iPhone 8 Plus at $129.99 down on a two-year term plus $10 per month with Plus pricing

Eastlink

At Atlantic-regional carrier Eastlink’s Black Friday event, the carrier is offering up to 2GB of bonus data on 2 GB, 4 GB, and 10 GB Data Plus plans. Customers can also get a $5 discount when adding a new line to their account.

As per usual, all devices are $0 down at Eastlink through its easyTab program. This includes the Apple iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Additionally, the outright prices of some phones are now reduced through easyTab.

For instance, customers can save $200 on the outright price of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ ($1,116) if they pay out their $38.17 easyTab over two years, amounting to $916 total.

The carrier is also advertising 30 percent off ‘refreshed,’ or previously used, smartphones and promises to buy out contracts for those who switch from another carrier.
