It looks like Google will soon fix one Pixel 2’s frequently cited issues.
In a post over on the official Pixel Community forums, community manager Orrin Hancock says that Google will issue a software fix to address the phone’s buzzing issue.
“We’re rolling out a software update in the coming weeks which eliminates a faint buzzing sound on some Pixel 2 devices when the is placed to your ear during a phone call,” writes Hancock.
Beyond “in the coming weeks,” Hancock did not provide a specific timeline for when Pixel 2 users can expect Google to release the patch.
Since the phone came out, Pixel 2 owners have discovered the Pixel 2 suffers from a variety of other issues. To be fair, however, the Pixel 2 has had fewer reported problems than its bigger sibling, the Pixel 2 XL.
Moreover, Google has already promised it will address some of the other problems plaguing its new phones with software fixes. Last week, the company promised a fix for the Pixel 2 XL’s unresponsive edge issue. We’ll have to wait and see if the company delivers on its promises.
